CART Racing - Thrustmaster T1 Wheel Settings

CART Racing - Thrustmaster T1 Wheel Settings

by Guy Phillip » Sun, 08 Mar 1998 04:00:00

I just bought CART Racing and while my  version of NASCAR 1 recognizes
the braking and accelleration both being on the Y Axis of my
Thrustmaster GP1 Wheel, CART does not permit the two to be on the one
setting.  The Wheel is properly calibrated and tested under the Windows
95 START, SETTINGS, GAME CONTROLLERS window.  The "cartts" file on the
disk instructions for setting the wheel under a "JOYSTICK" icon of the
SETTINGS Window doesn't match my Windows 95 options.  For instance,
there is no "Custom" setting.  I have tried the Sierra Website for FAQs
etc but was unable to find the answer.

Help, please!

(Will I have the same problems when I upgrade to NASCAR 2?)

Many thanks,

Guy R. Phillips

It sounds like you are running the Windows version of CART.  I scrapped
the windows version and run only the DOS version.  You shouldn't have
any trouble running it in DOS.  But you may want to get Thrustmaster's
ProPanel applet and try using it to setup your GP1 instead of the
Control Panel's Game Controllers.  Here is the URL:

There shouldn't be a problem at all for NASCAR2 as it is a DOS only game
and the controller works just like it does in NASCAR1.

Also, if using the T1, you will need the axis adapter to run in win95.  If you
don't have one, email me your address and I'll send one out.

Thanks,
Alan
