Having said that, the original question was just whether the physics are
realistic, not asking for a comparison against brand x, y and z.

I don't have F1RC so I can't respond to the initial survey, but I'd have
thought you'd just "draw a line" where you personally think "arcade stops
and realistic starts" and say yay or nay.  I can't see any reason to compare
a modern F1 sim to a historic one, they're completely different.

cheers

No No No Doug...lol Just the opposite, it was a long night so maybe
my text did not read clearly? I was referring to others who trash GPL
all the time & seem to hate anyone who likes it with no real validity to
back it up, aka a so called self proclaimed RC2000 expert!!
Follow me now? :)
Btw: I have driven the real thing in 65, 66, 67 & 68.. I did say drive
& *not* race but it was a pre-race!!

| Are you saying that GPL physics are entirely innacurate?
| Are you saying that N4 and GPL do NOT share the best physics engine there
| is?
| And as for saying that it's nonesense as it's too hard. That's pure
| bullshit.  Driving a '67 F1 car was not a walk in the park - and thus
| simulations thereof should not be either
| Doug

Well then it all comes down to what "realistic" means to some and others.
It can be very subjective.

A racing sim is a racing sim is a racing sim, whatever it simulates vintage
or modern motorsports, or even water boat drag racing. :)

And you? If you did, how well does F!RC simulate it?

I stand corrected. Have to switch off the Return to center. Think I was
fooled because the return to center feels different in the game than it does
with no game running. And most games I play turn it off for me.

What I don't see however is the wheel returning to center when I accelerate.
The car goes in a circle. Don't have time to check this out now, I have to
do my last GP2 race tonight :)

Ok - but if you're looking for a connection between realistic physics
and ff - I think the ff in F1RC is quite bad compared to GPL and GP3.

FF is nothing special, but it doesn't detract from the experience, IMO.

Would you have preferred that he just said 'no' with no explanation, like
ymenard did?  And why is it nonsense?  The man was asked for his opinion, and
he gave it.  The fact that you may not AGREE with said opinion doesn't really
matter...

Didn't pan out. The limited results I got supported my original idea but
then I figured out where I went wrong in my reasoning and the result is no
longer interesting to the group at large.
