N2 Modem Racing problems- PLEASE HELP

I have a US Robotics 56K X2 modem. It runs on com-3 irq-3.
First I can not select the modem in multiplayer because it is
not listed. Second, I have chosen every modem available with
every setting and it still won't work. The modem works for every
other application I have and there are no conflicts of com or irq
settings. Anyone with any suggestions please help.

It's a plug/play and dos problem. The only way I know of people fixing it
is to pull the modem out and set the jumper manually to (in your case) com3
irq3 and all should be well.

I also had this problem, people told me that you have to go inside the computer
 and put the jumpers on the modem and set it up as you like with the jumpers
 like in your case it would be com3 irq 3.  Then start the computer up and
 reinstall the modem (or set it up again) Then it should work with Nascar 2.
 It worked for me
