Have you looked at your Monza laps in GPLRA?  I don't think I ever would
have gotten even under 1:32 without it.  In my case the Lesmo's were
killing me, and then once I got that straightened out it was mostly a
matter of cleaning up my entry to the Curva Grande.  But different for
everyone I suppose.

Just d/l'd it - been meaning to for a while, really.

Which views do people find most useful?  And do you mostly compare
your own laps, or your best with alien laps - or sort-of-human laps?

you might try the BRM as well , I am amazed at how unforgiving that
car is. You can really sling it around corners and it barely
complains..

For me at least the alien laps are somewhat irrelevant.  I have watched
a few, and got some good ideas from them, but I mostly compare my laps
with the Papy demos, and for some tracks I have the Malcolm Edeson
replays from the GPLEGs package.

For views, it depends on what the problem is.  Usually I start by
viewing some replays in GPL, so I don't usually need to look at the
track map in GPLRA.  But sometimes the track map is very helpful just to
understand why the line is the way it is.  Mostly I go to the speed
view, that seems to be the quickest way to point out a problem.  Then if
I can't figure out why my speed is off, I will go to the lateral
acceleration view, the G-G graph, or the track view.  But since the type
of problems I usually run into right now are related either to braking
point or getting back on the throttle, the speed view is the most
helpful.

Yeah, because it's too effing SLOW to realize what's going on...

I usually can't see the difference between two of my oen laps.  I try to
compare to a lap that's maybe 3 seconds faster.  While I might not FIND those 3
seconds, I might see something that at least gets me CLOSER.  Another
suggestion made by Maxx is look for an F2 replay that has a similar time as
your lap.  Since F2's have a slower top speed, that means they run a better
line through the corners than you do.
