Nascar with Car Sets

Nascar with Car Sets

Ive just started using car sets in nascar & indycar (had never got
around to it before), but I have a problem.  I'm using the BTCC Car set off
'The pits' (the cars look great!). I've made a BTCC directory unders CARS, put
the files there and selected the car set from the driver info/car sets menu.
Problem is, when using this car set I can not get into the garage.
Has anybody else had similar problems or am I doing something wrong?

On another note, I've converted Talladega to ICR2, but find it impossible to
drive at any speed....

Scott.

the US version.  There is a file at The Pits called UK2USV10 that will
help you do this.

You must be using a Euro car set with a US version of the program or vice
versa. Download the set converter from the pits!

okay. You've probably downloaded from the u.s. site for 'The Pits", in
which case you've got the American car set, and that's why you've got the
problem with the garage. You can do one of two things. Go to the U.K.
mirror site for The Pits and download the car set from there, or, better
still, find the us2euro car conversion on one of these sites, if the prog
is still there. This program converts us car sets to european and enables
you to use the garage.

It takes a very steady hand.  I have my car trimmed all the way out.  The
only radical change that I didn't think of, but I found on the net is the
shock settings.  Put the front shocks at 100% and the rear between 10-0%.
If the car starts to push, just let off the gas and wait for it to come
back.  I really hope this helps.

I agree, Talladega is extremely like driving on ice with ICR2. With the front twitching
and sliding down the banking constantly. The trick is to setup the car with excessive
positive camber (tops of wheels slanting out), and i mean, REALLY excessive to fight the
nascar engine and track info to get the speed WE NEED!. Also setup the car with no
wings. Start the car with no wings and increasingly adjust the camber so you have enough
stability to get around the turns easily, but still enough steering.

I would post up all my settings but im damm tired..

Hope this helps!.. it's a blast doing Talladega on icr2!

I just want GP2!!!!!!!!

One more thing I forgot to add to this thread.  Once you get the speed
(252-254 range) and qualify, you now have to adjust your gears to save on
fuel economy.  I have raced there on 100% twice.  I lost both times with
DNF's (engine failure and gearbox failure).  I could have gone farther if
I fixed my gear ratios.  It'll cost ya on the overall top speed, but'll
keep you out front longer. The AI cars will race like NASCARs and you
might have a real odd-ball drive winning.  In my two full length races, I
raced a CART race and an IRL race you wouldn't believe who won.....HIRO
won the CART race (and I am the one leading the barrage of bashing against
him in the Indy newsgroup).  In the IRL race, Scott Harrington won (yeah,
I know what you mean!)
