Thanks for the NASCAR 95 car set

I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to Mr. Tony Johns for
taking the time to paint the 1995 car set.  I was very impressed with the
quality of work and I can appreciate the time invested since I have made many
cars myself.  It is nice to see that there are people out there who are willing
to share their work so that others may enjoy the game even more.

On a side note, one fun thing that I did was to make a small car set of my
friends' cars.  For example, I have a Monte Carlo SS, another friend has a Trans
Am, and still another a Camaro.  I painted them to look as much like their real
life appearance as I could.  It makes a fun time!  It's good for a laugh when
you see your own car toodling around the track as you bump your best friend's
car into the wall.

Right now I am working on cars with "other" sponsors that I will ftp to the
same site as Tony's cars are located.  This will save all the fuss about "not
posting binaries to a discussion group" posts.
Sponsor's I have made or will make soon:

Kenwood        Oakley    JCPenney     3M              Edelbrock
Pioneer        Starter   Nike         LucasArts       Paxton
Logo Athletic  Alpine    Reebok       Summit Racing   Dynomax
Sony           Infinity  Crutchfield  Accel           Holley

and more ...

I would like to thank Tony also. The 1995 car set is great. In
making my own Marlboro car I used some of the graphics.

I made a marlboro sponsored car. I'll upload it to the IWCC site as soon
as I figure out how to do it.

Thank you all for your compliments.  *blush* :-)

Those who use the '95 cars will want to keep checking my FTP site and the
date of the file.  In my spare time I tweak the file occasionally to make
it more accurate -- for example, the latest version has Loy Allen's
correct car number and Greg Sacks' sans the USAir sponsor (which left at
the end of the season).

Now if I could just get my wife to understand... ;-)

[thanks deleted]

Ok, I just have to respond here.  I am a devout NASCAR fan who watches
every race possible, much to the chagrin of my roommates.  One of them
made a very snide, but hillarious comment while watching a post race
iinterview.  I believe he heard a driver go through about five different
sponsers while saying something such as "Boy, I tell ya' what.  The
Oakley, Nike, Dynomax, 3M Chevy ran awful good today."

My roommate's response was, "I tell you what I want to see.  TAMPAX.
Tampax has to sponser a car.  Wouldn't that be the damnest thing gettin'
up there after a win: 'Beau the TAMPAX Superflo Ford ran awful strong
all day long.  Got a little loose in the corners there at the end but
she held on for the victory."

I was rolling...  Now that I have purchased NASCAR, he wants me to
make the TAMPAX SUPERFLO FORD.  Can't ya see it?  Baby blue ford
tearing around Darlington?  I can't.

Great job on the cars, thanks for making them available. Something you might
think about in your 'tweaking' is putting the yellow tape on the back of
the rookies bumpers if its not too difficult(I have never attempted to 'paint'
a car myself).
