MS FF wheel USB with Sports Car GT too...

Ok, I thought it was just GPL, but in Sports Car GT with the Force feedback
turned on (in the options screen in the game) I get less than 20 fps all the
time.  But using the keyboard, or switching FF off the frame rate soars to
about 45 fps!
I thought USB was supposed to be fast, what's going on?  This wheel is
supposed to have a processor in it.  Any ideas?

I'm not sure about the USB version, but the first release of
drivers for the MSFF that used the normal ports, REALLY bogged many
games down.  Perhaps
they reverted to old stable code when first preparing the drivers for
the USB version.  Start Emailing MS before the Become MS1 MS2 and MS3.

I'm not that familiar with the MSFF, but are you running some kind of
profiler or editor with it?

Only the one i'm supposed to use that comes with the wheel on the CD.
Actually, i've already tried disabling (unloading) it and it made no
difference.  I've also just tried the wheel in a second PC with a different
MB and I got exactly the same problem.
Looks like it's going back in the morning and i'll be stuck with always
locking brakes in GPL with my Wingman FF.

Actually, through all Microsoft billions (slight exaggeration) of pages of
"support" I couldn't find an e-mail address anywhere!   It seems they do all
they can to stop a real human being having to deal with your problem.   I do
have a phone number though, so i'll try it, but it looks like the wheel is
going back.  Real shame though, the pedals are superb and the FF is pretty
good.
Thanks for the help.
