This might be a stupid question, but I will ask it anyway.
Is it possible to add Brandshatch and Osterreichring to the best laps sheet
in GPL ??
I would really like this!!!!

Everything is possible, but it's probably a time consuming job to do it
via a 3:rd party patch. Making GPL save it (not display it) would be
easier, but still time consuming.
Our program, GPL Replay Analyser, will have a new feature in an
upcoming version which will make it easier to find your best laps for
all tracks including addons, such as ?sterreichring and Brands.

Out of curiosity, why don't you race online?
I have seen a lot of post by you in this NG and it seems you're a
"proper GPLer" like a lot of us. Its great to meet some of you guys on
line, the other I was in a race in a circuit I didn't particularly
liked but when I saw the name of R.Nunini amongst the other GPL
maniacs I thought it would be very interesting to race against him
since I had learned so much from his great web site. I never made the
race though, I am useless at Monaco, I don't seem to get much sense of
speed there in GPL, great in GP2 though.
I only started racing online recently but now feel like I have
been missing out big time on some amazing fun. You'll never look at
the AI in the same way once you've had a full grid of human driven
cars to race against. It requires much more concentration and
smoothness, plus there is not one single factor that can be
predictable, and that's where all the e***ment lies. Ok, a number of
factors determine whether you'll have a good satisfying race, such as
quality of your connection, speed, latency and so on. But I have a 56k
analog connection and racing against 14 or 18 guys without a hitch is
what I am getting with WinVROC at the moment. Not all races are like
that but a great majority of them are.
So much so I have decide to invest some money on a faster
Phone line, ISDN perhaps, which in my view is more than adequate to
join any race anywhere, if you want to host is another matter though.
I would say get online as soon as you can, don't wait until you're
hitting 1.27s at Monza, online racing is about consistency, clean
driving, finishing in one piece and, more importantly FINISHING.
That's what's required and that is what you end up achieving if you
keep at it, its strange to say but you feel "more experienced" once
you have had stiff competition from human drivers. And all in the name
of good FUN!
I have tweaked the AI backwards and forwards from every point
of view, and they will still always be predictable. The AI is
definitely not the best aspect of GPL, although still very good in my
view.
And yes I would also like to see OsRing and Brands on the Best
Laps Sheet, I don't know if there is any point in making these request
here as I feel Papyrus have washed their hands off GPL with the 1.2 a
few months ago.
Cheers.
Mauricio.

It might interest you to know (then again it probably won't!) but I know of
eleven people, including myself, in my home town who race GPL as a
stand-alone game. They have no desire to race on-line, simply treating the
package as a means of personal relaxation and entertainment.
I'm sure that, world-wide, the majority of those (50,000?) who bought/buy
GPL just compete against the AI.

is it so expensive in UK?

Visit my webpage at http://members.xoom.com/JensSchu/ for some serious stuff concerning:
Radio controlled airplanes
Racing simulation, esp. GPL
Classic cars, esp. Morris Minor
do the maths.
Multiply by 7 for a week = 25.20
Multiply by 4 for a monthly bill of 100.80.
Converting into Dollars (*1.60) = $161.28
Annual bill of $1935. 36, based on a 48 week year, allowing for holidays and
odd days on cold turkey <G>

Yep, and when I used to get on Hawaii from the UK, it was an International rate
call. I only joined 6 lap pickup races at Dega, with the one exception of an
embarassing 3 lapper at Pocono against Nim Cross where I was lapped twice, and
in one month, my bill was 240 ($360). That equates to approx 10p UK per minute
online. Still got to skill rating 3 before the plug got pulled. And on a 14.4
modem as well. Ah, those were the days.
