I certainly was, John.
Exactly that ID and in all in lower case, as you've indicated (if that makes
any difference).

Bruce.

You weren't holding me up. I was just trying to hang on in your draft.
Whenever I pulled out of it to pass, my damaged car just didn't quite have
enough to make a pass or to take turns drafting in front. It actually might
of been me holding up Jan for awhile though while I was trying to find a way
past. I'll have a look at the replay when it's posted.

Then why does the schedule show it as "Sonoma"?
Incidentally, who is responsible for keeping the info on the RASCAR site
updated? It still shows the "next race" as being Pocono!

Bruce.

knows it's in Sonoma.

Uwe,
No worries.........I'm sure there'll be further opportunities.

I dropped into a Michigan casual pickup race - 30 laps - and 30+ entrants.
I qualified 22nd.
Started the race and within fif*** seconds my race was effectively over due
to some bloke planting his foot as soon as the green was indicated and
spinning across the track, demolishing several cars in the process. (These
things certainly take off when bumped whilst on-line, don't they?!)
So I'm sitting on the bottom of the track, unable to move, with smoke
pouring out of my car, and someone comes up behind at the speed of sound,
plunges into the space where my back seat would normally sit, and then
abuses me with every four-letter word known in the English-speaking world.

I have creatures crawling through my compost heap which have higher IQ's
than some of these cretins, fair dinkum.

Bruce.

Not really Dave; it was always going to be a case of waiting until that knot
of cars untied a bit before I could make any real gain. And even so, I still
had to hold you off while I plotted my attack on Uwe.

Apologies for lifting a bit too much when I was really low in T3-T4 (I
think), BTW. I saw you check up into "the gray" which really lost you a
substantial amount of ground. Sorry about that, just second guessed Uwe a
bit too much. My fault entirely.

I will agree with the general sentiment, though: a very good race.

Prolly.....:-)

I wish I had the opp to run in these RASCAR races, joined a couple with
N2002 and it's a good crowd to race with, except for Mr Simmons and his
foul mouth of course :-)

Great retort Bruce, I hope you said just that to the *** in
question ;-)

The first yellow was about ten laps into the race this time,
quite impressive.

Hope to see you next time, Bruce!

Cheers,

uwe

But without John's foul mouth it certainly would not be RASCAR
;-)

Excellent Race.

I had two strategies, which were intertwined.  Only one stop, and stay up
front away from trouble.

It mostly worked out.

I made a calculation error and stopped 7 laps later than I should have.
That cost me 4 seconds on the track I was unable to make up because I ended
up on my own with no draft.  I NEVER expected us to go so many laps green,
especially all the way to the end!

I'm happy with 4th though :)

As far as I'm concerned, Nascar can call them whatever commercialized name
they want.  To me, it's always going to be "Sears Point" and "C***te".

It's not Nascar calling the tracks these corparate names,  it is the
track owners themselves going out and securing sponsorship for each track
individually.  Remember last year when Humpy threatened to tow the Fox
Nascar broadcast trailer if they kept calling the track Charllotte?
You should see the name used for last years Laguna Seca Champcar race.
It was something like the Bridgestone Grand Prix of Monterey Featuring the
Shell 300 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, California USA.

The track owners are going for whatever bucks they can scam.  IT's a
shame that the tracks like C***te totally replace the traditional track
name...I would liked to have seen something like C***te-Lowes  or Lowes
at C***te.
