GP3 and Windows XP Pro replays crash to desktop

by BARNOW » Thu, 03 Oct 2002 09:29:14

Hi,

Replays crash to the desktop with GP3 and GP3 2000 season using
Windows XP Pro.
I have the same problem with different hardware systems using the
latest drivers and patches for all my hardware.
Also tried the compatabillity modes in XP, no luck.
It works perfect with Windows ME.
Does anyone knows a fix?

Is this the 90 minute replays from GP3 2000 you're having problem with, or
just when you pause the game and press 'r' ?

this is the standard behaviour of gp3, gp3-2k and gp4 under xp.
i haven't heard from anyone got the replays running yet. and you're right,
under win98/me it works almost fine.
under win98/me the game still crashes, when you have set the replay length
shorter than the driver of the lap has set it, so most of the leagues e.g.
demand you to set a specific replay length.

I've found GP3 to be extremely unstable under Windows XP.  I finally gave up
on it :(

hmmm...i found it totally different, no crash with GPx on XP yet at all (i
didn't load replays though). maybe your XP is unstable.

Hi Dave,

Every kind of replay crashes to the desktop under XP Pro with Gp3 and
Gp3 2000.

Nope.  That argument was related to NTFS.  NTFS isn't hte problem here.

Ok, if that's the case, then who the hell cares that I now own a game that
won't run right under XP ?

What IS your point dude.
