I am itching for the 928 too but even more so for the GT2 and GT3
Carreras. I think that the GT3 is the sexiest Porsche ever made
(although the 993 Turbo is quite a looker too.) Also, I haven't found
anywhere within the game that will let you download the cars, as there
was in Hot Pursuit and High Stakes. I guess we will have to go to the
trouble of going to the EA website to download. I just wish EA would
tell us when they will be available (the 928, GT2 and 3, and 959.)

I haven't found a 928 anywhere in the game and I am almost through
with Evolution mode. I am past the point where the 928 would have been
and I never saw one. I think that Porsche is doing its best to forget
the 928 ever existed since it was such a departure from the standard
Porsche recipe (rear engine sports cars rather than front engine GTs.)
That's probably why the factory didn't want EA to make it an integral
part of the game.

There are rumours of Porsche reviving the concept, perhaps to prove that it
wasn't such a bad idea.  Then again, Porsche is also talking about SUVs, so
who knows what is next?

But they did include the 944, a water cooled, front engine car with
half the HP of a 928.

I'm getting my 944 this evening. Looking forward to unleashing some
Porsche in real life. (I have practiced a lot with the 944 in NFS ;-)

If Porsche releases an SUV, I'll, . . . well . . . I don't know what I'll
do.  But it won't be pretty.

Ah, but the real question is "Will we be able to download it and race with
it?"

Sorry to say, but they're going to be releasing one in the near future (next
couple years, I'm not sure). They've designed it with Volkswagen, and VW
will release a version of the same thing. The Porsche one will obviously be
much sportier, and I believe it is going to have a V8. VW already is showing
a concept pickup truck built on the SUV's platform. It should definitely be
"the Porsche of SUV's" but there's still no way I would take one over a 911
(if I could afford either, that is.).

They're building what the majority of the public wants.
Can't fault them for that, especially if it gives them the capital to
do more with it's sports cars.

I have to admit, although I would never get one in real life, I'd love to
try it around Corsica in the game.
