Voodoo3 - 2000 - Rocks hard in sims.......

Not to be overly contentious, but what are you clarifying?  I speculated he
probably got the V3/2000 because he doesn't have an AGP slot.  If he had only a
PCI slot, he couldn't get the V3/3000 because it is AGP only.  I don't recall
anyone mentioning DVD.

cheers to you also!

Better be quick - so you can get 5 days use out of it before voodoo 4
or TNT 2 becomes a neccessity.

Exactly what do I do with my Orchid Righteous 3dfx Voodoo 1 card now
then?

The documentation said "we hope it gives a lifetimes service..." I
remember
feeling rather sceptical at the time.....

Put it in the pile with your Pentium motherboards, Soundblaster AWE 32, 8
x CD ROM, 10000 5 1/4" floppies, 220MB hard disk and Comfy Keyboard.

That's what I miss about not being a PC store manager anymore. The
inbuilt redundancy of the "latest and greatest" products was guaranteed!

The 3000 doesn't have hardware DVD capabilities (at least none over the
2000, that is).  You have to go with the substantially more expensive 3500
for that stuff.. However, I think that you are right, the 3000 doesn't
come in PCI variety, and the 3000 is also harder (MUCH) to find.  I
managed to bag a 3000 at BestBuy for 150 (they ran a sale when they first
appeared, and I snagged a raincheck), about 3 weeks after it posted.  I
actually found one in Maryland (I live on Colorado), brought it back, then
got the "refund" for the raincheck.

Anyway...  I still can't render the sky in Janes WW2F well at all (large
FPS hit).  But everything else looks pretty good...

I thinik that the 3000 comes with a niftier software bundle (Unreal, NFS2
hot pursuit, and Descent 3 demo, but no flight sims).  now, if I could
only get it to work wiht ef2k!
