The 3000 doesn't have hardware DVD capabilities (at least none over the
2000, that is). You have to go with the substantially more expensive 3500
for that stuff.. However, I think that you are right, the 3000 doesn't
come in PCI variety, and the 3000 is also harder (MUCH) to find. I
managed to bag a 3000 at BestBuy for 150 (they ran a sale when they first
appeared, and I snagged a raincheck), about 3 weeks after it posted. I
actually found one in Maryland (I live on Colorado), brought it back, then
got the "refund" for the raincheck.
Anyway... I still can't render the sky in Janes WW2F well at all (large
FPS hit). But everything else looks pretty good...
I thinik that the 3000 comes with a niftier software bundle (Unreal, NFS2
hot pursuit, and Descent 3 demo, but no flight sims). now, if I could
only get it to work wiht ef2k!
