ICR2 car sets?

by Tom Bromberg » Tue, 12 Dec 1995 04:00:00

Hello. I've posted my verion of the 1995 IndyCars at alt.binaries.misc.
The heading was "IndyCar (V1) 1995 car sets (x/4)". The cars car from the
Indy 500. The file name is Cars93.zip, BUT WAIT - these ARE the 1995
cars. Also, these are compatable with IndyCar version 1, not IndyCar II.

No warranty - use at your own risk.

ICR2 car sets?

Hope this isn't something that I have overlooked, but I haven't seen any mention
of anyone making car sets available for the '95 cars, including Villenueve,
Andretti, and so forth.  I realize that the car editor is always available, but
I didn't follow Indycars as closely last season as in the past and doubt that I
could make an accurate '95 set.

Does anyone know if anyone has a set available for downloading anywhere?  Thanks
much in advance!

Scott

Don't worry, there are sets coming, I'll be sure to scream loud
and often when they are ready, (ps, I am not doing any, my artistic
talent is strained mightly by stick figures!;>)

I would apreciate it 'tho if someone could explain the meanings of
the number colums in the drivers2.txt file.  I know the Chassis id and
engine stuff but then come several rows of 3digit numbers and I can only
guess they relate to horspower, agressiveness etc.  Anybody have the
definitions??

Hi Dave,

The numbers stand for:

Car Number..Chassis..Tyres..Power..Traction..Drag...Aggression

The Power rating dictates acceleration; Traction governs cornering
speed; Agression indicates how ealily the driver will move over when
challenged and Drag dictates wind resistance and straightaway speed.

The base line for these ratings is 500 and that value is adjusted up
or down to reflect relative ratings for each driver.   A good

Higher ratings for Power, Traction and Drag indicates higher
performance.   The opposite for Drag.   The game randomly selects a
number within each range, generating a different number of each
session.   The wider the range, the less consistent that car will be.

Hope that explains it.

Thanks, I'll compare that to my drivers2.txt and see If I make
sense of it.  Dave Henrie
