I have a patched DOS version 1.2 of ICR2. I have downloaded a carset called
cart96 and it will not work. In the game I get a "cant read/load driver car
sets" error (maybe not the exact way the error reads). I am therefore stuck
with the same old car /drivers that came with the game.  I have just had
this problem since downloading the patch.  I have had no problems with my
patched version other than this.  I have downloaded and used other carsets
before with no problems.  Any help would be greatly appraciated!!!

At least part of this problem stems from the fact the patch leaves all
files in the cars95 subdirectory as read only; you must turn that off
before any modifications can be made.

Can you get to the part of the Driver Info menu which prompts you to
choose another car set?

No I am not offered a chance to pick any other car set.  How do I fix this

Change to the directory with the orginal carset (CD \ICR2\CARS\CARS95)
Now change the attributes for the files to turn-off Read-Only flags
(ATTRIB -r *.*)

This should now let you access the Driver Info menu and allow you to select
other cars.
