A Lot of packaging for Nascar toys and  software seem to feature the DUPONT
car .
Is there any reason for this?

Probably because Jeff Gordon and the #24 Dupont car has won many
championships as of late.

A.K.A.    Popular

Yup, most recent 'wonder' kid to come along, 4 championships, high profile
team, huge sponsor. He picked up the NASCAR PR banner sometime before
Earnhardt was killed, is soft spoken and easily marketable (speaking to the
driver).

The DuPont #24 is one of the more popular cars in NASCAR.  It is driven by Jeff
Gordon (young, good looking, likable, talented driver) who it seems most people
either love or hate with very few fans in the middle.  He has won the drivers
championship several (4?) times.  All that aside it is one of the most highly
marketed teams in Winston Cup.  I am sure one of his fans or haters could give
you more information.  (I personally cheer for Dodge drivers but would rather
Jeff win than any Ford..)..

As far as know, "Dupont" must be the name of some product someone wants
to sell us: perhaps a cleaning liquid or perhaps an insurance company,
who knows? But as far as I know the idea of the texts painted to the
racing cars usually try to sell us something... Luckily I do not know
anything labelled with the text "Dupont", to which I could spend my
money... ;-)

DuPont makes auto finishes, plastic wraps, cleaners, etc.

Believe me, you know DuPont. It's everywhere, like MS. :-) A huuuuuge
company....... http://www.dupont.com/

--------------------------------------------
DuPont is a science company, delivering science-based solutions in markets
such as food and nutrition, health care, apparel, home and construction,
electronics and transportation.
Two hundred years ago, DuPont was primarily an explosives company. One
hundred years ago, our focus turned to global chemicals, materials and
energy. Today, entering our third century, we deliver science-based
solutions that make real differences in real lives. Look closely at the
things around your home and, chances are, you'll find a DuPont imprint.

Our ability to adapt to change and our foundation of unending scientific
inquiry enabled this two-century journey to becoming one of the world's most
innovative companies. But, in the face of constant change, innovation and
discovery, our core values have remained constant: commitment to safety,
health and the environment; integrity and high ethical standards; and
treating people with fairness and respect.

What has this commitment allowed us to accomplish? Take a look:

2001 revenues: $24 billion

Net income of $2.3 billion.

Employees: 85,000. Approximately 1/2 work outside the United States.

Global: Operating in 70 countries worldwide. 135 manufacturing and
processing facilities.

R&D: More than 40 research and development and customer service labs in the
United States, and more than 35 labs in 11 other countries

Sounds horrible... ;-)

Well, you are really an old company! There anyhow, was a certain smell
of "cultural adverti***t" in your explanation of your company... :)

Those numbers must mean money, I suppose? I guess they are in the
Italian Liras (not used any more), or perhaps in the Turkish currency? ;)

(And I do not anyhow understand those economical terms like "revenue"
and "net income"! And by the way "billion" here is called "milliard",
if I am not totally confused? How do you call "1000 000000"? In Europe
(GB exluded?) that is a "milliard". In US I guess it is a "billion"?)

So you are a very international company? And still my only knowledge
comes from the car paintings of the N4! Have you ever thought of your
company's international image? Perhaps there is somehing to work on? :-)

I WISH it was my company.  :-) I'd get a lot more sleep at night.

Sorry, I didn't give the obvious information in my reply...DuPont is a chemical
company...the specific sponsor of the car is "DuPont Automotive Finishes
Division"  they sell car paint...and special paint finishes...hope that answers
your question...

"Who wants to pull for a pretty boy like Jeff Gordon?" said Marvin Sanders,
who wore a T-shirt with Marlin's likeness to Sunday's MBNA America 500 at
Atlanta Motor Speedway. "Sterling's a real driver, somebody who grew up in
the sport and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty working on his car."

I've wondered about this.  If one of the current Dodge drivers started driving
a Ford, would you suddenly hate him?  I just can't understand rooting for a
particular CAR...

Yes, I know it's silly but there is a lot of brand loyalty involved over here.
It actually happened this year that a driver I never particularly liked
switched to Dodge this year...so now I kind of cheer for him...sometimes......
