nascar 1999 pit problem with fuel

by jmor.. » Sun, 18 Apr 1999 04:00:00

hi...I am in a race....running midfield when my right tires are going
dangerously close to blowing....i gotta pit....there is 14 laps to go
and the estimated fuel comsumption is 21 laps so no need for fuel...I
tried to get it to change just my right side tires...but it wanted to
add 16 gallons of gas....I couldn't adjust it...I believe the manual
says you can...is that true?  it cost me i am sure....so then I could
go another 58 laps but only needed 14...which i had enough fuel
for...what's up with that?

anyone know why??

thanks...

Nope, for some reason Papyrus didn't put this option in either NR99 or
N2, and it's a feature needed.

I agree.  I loved the concept of "splash-and-go" in N1 and used it to win many
a race in that game.

So that's TWO critical features they had in N1 that didn't
make it into the N2 "series": the other is Last Lap AND Best Lap
onscreen simultaneously.

The manual says that the crew chief will determine fuel needed. Toward the end
of the race, I've even heard my spotter say "We'll just need a splash to
finish," or words to that effect.

Seems to me in N99 you can hit F3 and use the > and < keys to request fuel
load. I know you could in N2. Could some features be missing according to
computer capacity?

You can not adjust the fuel load during a race in N2 and NR1999. The
only time you can do it is  when you select "testing" as the weekend
type on the quick race screen. This info is in the readme file of each
game!
