NASCAR 1999 Problem

Has anyone had the problem of qualifying on the pole for N99 and when the race
starts, the spotter says to stay behind the "xx" car which happens to be the
last place car?

Just wondering if anyone could help me with that.

Thanks

I've had similar problems on yellow with N2 as well.  It's often "off" by a
car.  If I'm sure I'm right (such as you qualifying on the pole) I just stay
there.  If it's under yellow, I wait patiently and it will usually
straighten out eventually.

Does it black flag you if you just stay there?

The only time it has happened is when I am on the pole for a race.  If I stay
out in front, it black flags me once the race starts.

The only way to avoid it is to drop to the back of the pack.

I believe (and I've not seen it often enough to confirm which
situation is the actual one) that this occurs in one of three
situations:

1. The speed limit may actually be enforced in final warm-up. You were
too fast, and this is the penalty (seems kind of extreme It always
send me to the back...)

2. Destroyed car to the point of also destroying the engine during
warm-up. (Realistic actually, if you don't start the car/truck you
qualified, you start at the back.)

3. A random occurance meant to simulate the possibility of having to
start a back-up car or missing the driver's meeting etc. May have
something to do with the damage realism setting....

That's my two cents!
