I didn't have time to install Keimola yet, but on the GPLEA forum I
read something about manually renaming the .dat file to keimola.dat,
maybe that will help?

Nope, doing that will definitely make the installer fail. The reason
they renamed it was cause they installed it manually(which works).

yes the keimola folder was empty, but the ini files were updated properly.

oh yea, there was no error message either- said the installation was
complete.wierd. track worked fine though, after i put all the files into the
keimola folder that the installer created.

That's what happened for me--it modified the ini files, made a keimola
directory, but did not copy anything.  I renamed the "dat" file to
"keimola.dat" and it made no difference.  I have my GPL on D under the
default SIERRA\gpl folder.  Should the main .dat file be named correctly?  I
also have no programme cover files...  Perhaps the original Zip is faulty?

Marc.

No, no, no! Do the old Pyynikki track! Bremgartenish (narrow, dangerous,
round the houses, round the forest, some cobblestones, even a bit of
gravel), hosted WC motorcycle races in the sixties, and even car races
in 1962-1963. http://www.dlc.fi/~kakeh/pyynikki/index.htm,

Had the same problem, fixed it by renaming the "dat" to files.dat, and using
pack/unpack, or winmip's unpack feature, I unpacked the "files.dat".  It
created a temp directory and inside it was the keimola.dat file.  I copied
it and all the other files in the install directory, except for the "dat"
file to the new keimola directory in the GPL/tracks directory and it worked
fine.  Hope this helps.

After adding maybe the 10th user made track I was getting sick of clicking
through so many tracks (papy, use a scrolled list for track selection in
GPL2! yeah, right! ;)

As a solution I have three bat-files copying different 67season.ini files
into the seasons directory. Of course, I have to decide what tracks I want
to see (orig, oval or others) before I start GPL.
