European Indycar Patches and Updates???

Hi all,

        Well I have been away from the scene for a whole 4 weeks, an boy a
lot so things seem to have changed!  I bought Indycar today, and since I have
a 4mb machine I would like to apply all the updates and patches so that it will
run a little better (plus of course the modem play...).  BUT from what I have
been reading the updates wont work on the UK version of the game, so what do I
have to do to get them?  I logged to the Papyrus FTP site and read the text
files which didn't really help, will the 1.04 patch work in the UK, and do I
have to step up through the upgrades or can I just leap in where I am (I dont
know what version I am running, since my PC is still to arrive!) Also what is
the 1.04e patc, I cant download it so what does it do?  Anyhelp much
appreciated and the F1GP FAQ will be posted as soon as my PC arrives here,

I'm another european ICR player so maybe I can help. The 1.04 patch is not
really a patch. Its a new indycar.exe file. So you don't have to go through
any upgrades. Just use the new .exe file. However!!! The icr104.zip file
contain the US version. It runs ok, but you can't get through the security
section, as the US and european manuals are different (??????). So all european
users have been waiting for the euro-patch. And it looks like it arrived in
the file icr104e.zip. Its just that, as you mentioned, nobody can get to it
as its permissions are wrong. I mailed Papyrus about it so maybe it'll change
some day (if its not a joke). So for now you are stuck with 1.01e. Unless
you wanna be dirty and get the US 1.02 cracked version of course (did I
really say that 8^0 ) which is secret and not stored in playfix.exe at
didnt.doit.wisc.edu.
