I'm not into this game as some of you are but what If hear and seen, its ok
but not great...........It wouldn't run on my PC now, I got one run of
it...in which I couldn't complete a single lap 'cause of the car being so
temperamental(I know cars were like that back then) but the requirements for
the game make it real slow and you have no hope of controlling it!!!!!

Alright you'll all tell me I'm in the dark ages 'cause I don't have a 3d
card and a really high spec machine, but I did some major upgrades around 12
months back and now my computer is out dated again.....I know thats the way
it goes but thats not the way my money flows!!!!

If you have a really really really fast PC it could be ok but I still don't
think sits as great as all you guys say.

I think AGN are looking for reviewers if you're at a loose end... ;-)

Sounds like a 3d card is all you need really. What spec is your
system? Even a cheapo (50) Rendition card will make a massive
difference. The 3d card does just about all the graphics processing
thus allowing your cpu to get on with calculating the physics. A
*huge* burden is lifted from your cpu.

Apparently the demo is miles behind the Full Version as far as quality
is concerned. Also the feeling of speed is meant to be awesome on
circuits *other* than Watkins Glen, which may be the one your running.

Then there are the setups...................

I'll have to wait 'till the October 9th to get the full lot, but it
certainly sounds worth the wait.

GPL is very slow and choppy on my Altair !!!

I tried it on a newer computer at my friend's house (ColecoVision) but it
seems that the round metallic thing in the plastic box doesn't fit anywhere
!!! Oh well at least I have a funky manual !

How can the requirements for a game "make it real slow"?

The requirements are there to show you that if you have a machine that is
below what the requirements state you probably shouldn't bother with the
game.

Then don't ***. If your machine can't handle the game that's fine. But,
that doesn't mean you should try the game on a deficient machine and then
post that the game sucks because you can't play it.

What you think is irrelevant. You tried the game on a machine that, by
your admission, is below the stated minimums. The conclusions you drew
from your experience in that environment are baseless.

Sierra published minimum system requirements because they knew that
anything below that line would be unplayable. Anything at the system
minimums is probably just playable with all of the options turned off,
that's why it's a -minimum requirement-. To truely enjoy a cutting edge,
technologically advanced simulation you will need a cutting edge,
technologically advanced machine.

Well, I don't think a AMD K6 200 is a really fast PC - but GPL kicks
ass on my machine...at least in the demo.
