I also had the same problem, but it was corrected once TSW started
recommending the 250K pots instead of the 100K (which were the low grade a
few years ago) or the 50K (always been the high grade IIRC)

Seems that the 50k or 100k pots do not offer a big enough change in
resistance relative to the amount that the wheel turns.  The USB then has
trouble determining proper position (maybe because of some type smoothing of
inputs, not real sure) and thus you have a notchy feel with the controller.

With the USB adapter, and the TSW2 with 250K pots, my wheel is a smooth as
it has ever been.

Hi David

If I at Redline Race Controls was able to easily fit a FF unit into my
discontinued RRC wheels I would consider doing wheels again.
Unfortunately the wheels took a lot longer to make than the pedals plus I
was getting alot of orders for pedals only as many folks had good qualility
wheels with poor pedals.
At present I work pretty hard just keeping a flow of pedals going and always
seem to be behind the eight ball trying to get them out.  I have just
finished another small batch which have been preordered bar 1. Looks like
I'm 1 ahead for a change.

I use ELFA http://www.elfa.se/no/ they normally have most of what I need
when it comes to electronics. They are located in Oslo and sell small
quantities
to consumers.
Great service. I can go there, and ask for a single 250k pot and they will
find alternatives,
let me look at them and chose the one I want.

I just picked up the radio shack adapter. Like you said using the 50K pots
steering is very choppy (in GPL). Can't even calibrate in N2002. This will
all be corrected if I pick up the 250k pots?

I seen at the website they are working on a box to get the 50k's to work
with an  usb adapter. I am in no hurry I just want to make sure the 250k's
will do the trick.

Thanks in advance.

FWIW, I had no luck with the Radio Shack adapter. I have the 250k pots
in my TSW2, and could never get a solid reading. It was constantly
jumping around when reading center.

>I interested in getting the Rockfire games port to USB adapter. It allows
>any 15 pin analogue controller to be plugged into the USB port.

Nigel: Here's the first URL I found for a vendor:
http://www.usbcable.com/47-1932.htm

Meanwhile...

I tried the "Rockfire USB-Nest joystick converter (RM-203)" with my
gameport CH Products F-16 Fighterstick, ProThrottle, PedalsPro, but it
gave such a fast signal response that the CH Products
programmable-buttons software wasn't able to understand what was going
on, so I gave up.

Has anyone found a solution to this?  Is it possible to vary the
port's response time?
