Have you considered using Team Speak?

I have it installed but I plumb forgot to start it up before Kya.  It
wouldn't do any good anyway as I don't have a mic that won't transmit
my own speaker sounds.

I put out a chat message that said I was "off pace" but after 4 years
of GPL I have to retrain my brain to use the NR2003 chat functions and
have trouble doing that in the heat of the moment (have to take my
eyes off the screen to find the right key).  My wheel buttons aren't
setup right for NR yet.

BTW  I had my spotter set on full yack but still never heard any
warnings in practice and my (short) race for cars off the track.  I
heard car beside and pit speed warnings.   Was that just me?

Not sure what he did :)

On the second lap, after turn 1, I went wide left to let a slightly faster
car go by to my right.  At the exit of the corner, my lefts dropped off the
road, and when I tried to ease back on the car snapped left on me, and I
found the only protruding wall in the entire freaking country at that point.

Once I removed the Engine from the trunk area, I found I had dropped a
valve.  I hear it's in Texas somewhere...

Hey, I've been there - letting a faster car pass, and getting into trouble as a
result.  Welcome to my world - I know how you feel.

Roberto qualified on the Indy 500 pole in 1992.  On one of the parade laps, he
spun on the backstretch, hitting the inside wall and breaking the car...<g>

No problem here :) I saw I was coming up on you and guessed you'd give the
inside line. You didn't (which is totally OK) so I slowed but got caught out
when you did too. If anything, it was my fault so sorry for that. Definitely
worth being on teamspeak ;)
