Maybe in appearance, but not in "substance", since the arcade games have
force feedback steering integrated with the vehicle model (physics) as well
as really solid controls. The home game versions were released well before
FF was available. Atari still has the code around, the same vehicle model
(with parameter changes) was used, iirc, in SF Rush.
The arcade games come up used every now and then, if you have room for a
big cabinet. A friend picked up one last year, needs some work but the
parts are available if you hunt. The sit-down Race Drivin' (Yellow cabinet)
was probably the best version, had a nicer gearshift than the earlier red
cab Hard Drivin'.
Same core group developed Silicon Motor Speedway, and some of those
