How does one _successfully_ convert the .GIF and .JPG track shot images
on www.nascar.com to .PCX format...and get them to display correctly in
NASCAR2?

I have tried converting them with LViewPro, but they are always
discolored and messed up in the game.

Open both the original N2 image and the new ones in Paint Shop Pro.  Cut
the image from Nascar.com and paste it into the original PCX.  This should
keep the correct palette.

Jeff,

The pcx files used for the tracks have their own palette order...Use one
of
these, and all should be fine.

Using paint shop pro, you can use an exported car pcx file to save the
pallette.  Open up the picture from nascar online, and then apply  the
color pallete to the *.jpg or *.gif and it will be compatible with n2.
The new image may need some touch-ups though, not all of the colors will
be converted properly due to the limit of the colors in n2.
