Has anyone compared the new Papy n1999 tracks with the tracks that the N2
gurus built for n2 such as Fleming, Evergreen, Louisville, I70, Homestead,
etc.?

IMHO, Sierra/Papy did a good job on the new tracks!

The N2 gurus as you say are doing the best they can with the tools they have
available to create and reproduce new or known tracks for us. Papyrus will
always do a better job cause they have the source code and better graphics
structure tools and knoledge to recreate the actual tracks for us.  Plus they
probably spend some time at the tracks or looking at photos to recreate each
little detail as much as possible.

cheers,

I definitely agree with you Dave. Obviously, there are certain "tooling"
limitations when the
gurus take xyz track and change it to the ABC track.  Radiuses cannot be
changed therefore
the non-sierra track designers are very limited. I found Heartland Park once
for my CTS set and it was not at all like the real track ( it may have been
Portland ?)

Anyway, I like n99 and the new tracks and better 3dfx definition !

An outstanding job, in fact :)

If only as much attention was paid to the controller code in the DOS
versions :)
