#1 you may have read it on RAS, but i was the one who posted the idea
of hemet colors signifying rank of experience.
white=rookie
yellow=can race with out being lapped etc

it seemed to get alot of positive response, but unless there is a
central clearing house (papy) it'll never happen.
(maybe its not all that great but i thought of how at Indy cars had 3
stripes on the back (rookie) till driver proved
himself.)

#2 racing with the shift-r. some leagues i'm in are imposing mandatory
pit stops(stop & go) or after a shift-r  IF you
can continue the lap you may shift-r WHEN you reach the pits.

i like both of these but if the host soesn't "catch" a
violator...anyway as papy has built in black flags for violation, why
not an option to include it after a shift-r is used?

another possiblity would be to tally the number of shift-r's used (to
help determine driver rank  see 'rookie stripes'
above) and this number could be saved with the drivers name in
parentheses and all racers could see it.

if nothing else and post race recalculation of time. for each shift-r
a 5 second penalty would be added to your accrued
time. and final standings would be adjusted based on this calculation!
wow - wouldn't that cause a stir...to actually
wait for the standings page to see how you finished!

thanks for your time Alison. i know you personnaly can't implament any
of this, and if i should be sending it
elsewhere, please don't hesitate to enlighten me :)

Bo we don't need more rules and regulations for online racing.
What we need is for drivers to drive alittle smarter.
If everyone would just take it easy at the start and fall into
line instead of popping the clutch and loosing control or running into
the guy in front of him that would solve the starting problem.
If everyone would take it easy on the first lap while on cold
tires and not try to pass and win the race on lap one that would solve
most of the first lap problems.
If everyone would realize that there is a differnce between
hot lapping and racing we would have less guys just driving right thru
others cars. If your racing to a corner and your beside someone that
has the inside line on you YOUR BEAT BACK OFF and fall in behind don't
cut in on them taking you both out.
Drive your car and don't get focused on the car ahead you'll
get in trouble every time.
And most important drive like if your not careful you'll get
hurt.
If everyone did just these things racing online would just be
great.  I sure there's more but thats all I could think of right now:)

There should be a career mode for online racing. You get your profile the
first time you enter a race and then you can build on it. I heard of Unltima
Online and it has something like that ( never saw an Ultima game so I might
be wrong ). That would apply for "serious" online racing apart from that
there should be "demolition derby" online racing also ( for people to get
the feeling of online racing ).
