Hehe, a little flamebaiting :)

It is nothing more that a statement of the sad fact that there has not
been released a sim matching GPL in over two years. Here's a challenge (or
it might only be plain stupid), find a newsgroup which is not
nostalgic in it's nature, where the only main topic is a product over
two years old.

I really can't wait until the day when someone says make a
rec.autos.simulators.xxx group.

If you want boring, try alt.games.microprose.grand-prix. Nothing ever

If you don't like that GPL is the more realistic racing sim, then start
posting about another game. It is a great game so people talk about it...if
you think something is better, then just start talking about it.

Ooh noo, I wouldn't dare say anything is better than GPL, however there are
other sims that people buy and use (notice the absence of the word 'play'
there). I'm just surprised that as only 40,000 copies were sold originally
compared to lord knows how many Rally Championship's, Colin McRae 2's, Need
for Speed XXX's and so on everyother post is GPL.

Anyway I only did it to see what reaction I would get, so far it's been
pretty sensible.

Not to sound racist or anti-semitic, but I think the GPLness of this
newsgroup is because we are all waiting for the NEXT great thing. We are
like the Jews who are still waiting for a messiah. We have seen the light
via GPL and while some titles come close, most fall into the pile of
pretenders. So GPL gets an EXTREMELY inordinate ammount of newsgroup topics
devoted to it because there just ain't nothing better to talk about yet..
But just try and imagine....just think how great it will be....when
someday...somebody codes a product that surpasses GPL. Won't that be
something?
