Shifting on better steering wheels?

I'm happy with my T1, but I am getting tired of reaching for the
shifter.

When I looked at the home page for one of the good ones, I think
it was the TSW, it looks like the shift paddles don't move with the
wheel.

Is this correct?  Is this cool?  Or would it be better to have
the paddles rotate with the wheel?  I keep my hands at 10:00 and
2:00, or 9:00 and 3:00.  I'm wondering if I'll still be fumbling
for the shifter if the paddles aren't turning with the wheel.

As I said, I'm happy with the T1, and I've only worn out the
bungy cord once.  What makes these better wheels so good?  Should
I look at the new TM wheel (GP1?) for use with my T1's gas and
brake paddles?

                                                          Thanks
                                                          Larry

I was at Live '96 last year and I saw Digital Edge's F1 SIM wheel and pedal
combo. The wheel is said to be a genuine momo racing wheel, and the paddles
rotate with it. It had a good feel to it along with the well constructed
pedals. I reckon it's probably the best on the market, but at 233.83 it's
a tad expensive.

Mind you, you can also buy a full size replica of an F1 car body for the
wheel and pedals to fit into for 2,000.00!

Not only that you can also get feedback add-on to simulate cornering or
crashing (if the software supports it) and a fan that blows air in your
face - the faster you go, the faster the fan blows! (if the software
supports it). The only thing with that is: if you're serious about your
sim' you'd be wearing a crash helmet and wouldn't feel the wind....

Hello Larry, i've done a webpage on how to add gear shift buttons
mount on the steering, it's very easy, and your lap time will be down.

Just look at How to Add GEAR SHIFT BUTTON and take a look
also at how to add a clutch on pedal assy if you run GP2, there's also
numerous guides on setups

at this sub-page  http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/mysetup.html

If your a GP2 fan browse around and you may find some goodies
(like race setups) and more..  at
http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/gp2menu.html

See ya! Eric
