Don't know whether anyone has thought of it yet, but I've
made the modifications to my Thrustmaster Formula T-1 to
have steering wheel shift buttons. Now I don't have
to take my hands off to shift anymore...

I drive since one year with my homemade shift-button-modification.
Works great. Laptimes are not slower than with automatic shifting.
