TSW Wheel - Shift Control Button Kit

by Bertram Hoenigman » Sat, 10 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Does anyone here have any experience at installing/using the optional
Shift Control Button Kit on a 1998 TSW Wheel?  I'm interested in using
it to look left/right in GPL.

First off, would it work for that purpose?

Second, how hard is it to install?  I'm not the handiest guy around, so
was hoping that they could be securely taped to the spokes on the
wheel.  (I'd prefer not to drill holes through the spokes).

Finally, do they really require soldering, or do they just plug-in
somewhere, like the single/dual axis switch did?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how the actual TSW kit installs, but I've added 2 extra buttons
on the wheel of my old TSW. I did the wiring myself which wasn't difficult.
And yes, I use these buttons for looking left and right in GPL.

Look at how the 15 pins game controller connector is made. All you'll
need
is find what colors does what. the best method is getting a ohmeter and
checking each of wires are on which pin, after knowing this installing
extra switches is a piece of cake.

Take a look at the layout at my website under "BLACKBOX" look on page 4
and 5 of that project, you'll find your answer there.

Good luck
