Hi Don,

My SBLive value works with all my DOS games.  I'll have to check my
settings, but I think you need to use the 16-bit DMA port and Sound Blaster
for the selections.  Don't forget to run the setup.exe program to change
your ICR2 config so it matches the Sound Blaster Emulation settings in your
system/properties.

Email me from my CSP site if you need specfic settings and I'll get them
from home.

Jason.

Can anybody get CART Racing to work with a SB Live Value? It's the only
thing that keeps me from running ICR2.

Thanks Jason, I got it working.  I had been trying to use my old, original
ICR2 disk but this week I bought a copy of CART Racing, so I could use the
Rendition tracks to convert to GPL. After converting the tracks I deleted
the Rendition version and installed the Windy version, It loaded right up
and runs great on my PII400. I'd forgotten how much fun ICR2 is, although
I'm spoiled by GPL, I miss force feedback!

Papy!!!! Are you listening? The time has come, we need CART Racing 2!!!

YES, even more so, now that the loonies at EuroSport don't broadcast
the CART races anymore (except for a cut replay in the morning!).

I can't believe there's a bigger audience for some idiots racing up a
hill
with motorbikes than for a CART race...

Does ICR2 have a glide version?  I no longer have my rendition card so is it
worth loading again?

V3 2000/ SB Live here...It doesn't look or sound great, but after loading
the Win 95 version up last night and digging around on the net for a 2K
carset and some setups, I'm enjoying running some of the old tracks again.
Rather like visiting old friends<g>. The tracks look much better when
enhanced with Alison's 3d Kits and then converted to GPL, it's a shame they
won't work for CART Racing.

The CART chassis sure have good brakes, I wonder if my virtual Colin Chapman
could adapt a set to my Loti....

probably very little.  ICR2 is soooo ancient I doubt they used 16bit
sound, just 8 bit most likely that ran via settings for a SB16.

Have Eurosport definately cut the live CART coverage?? It was advertised
over here (UK) as being on,ive for Homestead but having sat down eagerly
waiting for it it never came on. I have e-mailed Eurosport asking whast is
going on with the CART coverage but have had no reply so far. The only
consolation is that Channel 5 show the whole race in the early hours of
Tuesday morning, but it's a pain trying to avoid the result until then.

Yes, Eurosport have cut live CART coverage (British Eurosport is going
to send 10 races live though) this year. CART wanted the national
television companies around Europe to send CART instead, but noone
wanted to show it. Apart from Spain and some lucky sods in Britain,
there is no live CART this year. Read more about it on rec.autos.sport.cart.
