I was running a few F3 laps in GPL just to test some modified Act Labs
pedals. When I was done, I noticed that a couple of the times were pretty
good, but I was sure that I had beaten it before by 2/10's of a sec. But
guess what. It was 2/10's faster than my best and I didn't save the replay!!
Stupid, stupid! Of course, it's F3 so it won't show up in the fast laps
screen because they're all taken with F1s.

Please, tell me I'm not the only one who's ever done this.

Nope, not the only one.  The thing that bugs me is when a host
shuts down immediately after a race, not giving you time to save
replays, lap times, etc.  That is exceedingly rare, though (usually
only rookie hosts).

BTW, you *can* have your F3 times show up on your best time chart.
If you follow Alison's advice and make a separate driver profile for
F3 (and one for F2, too) and use that profile *only* when you drive F3
(or F2).  That's why you see a lot of "MyNameF3" driver's names - to
differentiate them from plain old "MyName" for GP.  WinVROC makes it
easy to select the profile before you join a race.

"But in a way, fear is a big part of racing, because if there was
nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." -- Jim Clark

I seem to remember seeing a check box somewhere to automatically save
the race replay. Possibly it's something only available to the host
server?

Oh, thanks. I didn't even think about it in terms of a pb ;)   I guess I
should be kinda happy. I  could have done a lot of things to show the lap as
a record, use my other GPL alias, save the replay anyway, stuff like that.
But I just wasn't in hotlap thinking mode, I was just testing a pedal mod
not expecting or trying for a fast lap. Conentrating on something else.
Ain't that the way it sometimes happens though.  Funny, I sort of drift to
the Ferrari wheel for GPL, but in reality my fastest laps in F1 and F3 are
with the Force RS. For the F1, I was out with some buddies (mates) having a
few pops, got home with a buzz and figured I'd run a few laps. So I grabbed
the wheel I knew I couldn't break. Guess you never know when those good laps
will come.
