| Y'know it's this attitude that has completely stopped me from watching
| open wheel racing.
And other people are constantly saying exactly the opposite, that
NASCAR fans keep them from watching NASCAR.
I like Winston cup, CART, F1, indylights and toyota atlantic racing...
if I payed attention to their fans, maybe I'd hate all of them.
| If it's so damned easy, how come Robbie Gordon can't
| keep one on the track?
Did you see any of Robbie's performance in CART last season? I feel
bad for the guy, he had a terrible year. It is clear that he can race-
anything with wheels, in fact. Maybe he's just had some terrible luck.
Anyway, I hope he figures out whats been going wrong.
Anyway, this is not about simulators, and even worse, this is the sort
of talk that divides everybody up. NASCAR isn't going to go away, and
it certainly has no threat from third-place-and-falling,
bleeding-to-death Indycar (what indycar? IRL? CART?). All racing is
good for all forms of racing, and someone can get an F1or NASCAR sim
for their birthday and discover they love racing, all racing.
It is humbling for we americans to recognize that F1 is, event for
event, the world's most popular sport- one *billion* people watch
*every* F1 race, only the top matches in world cup soccer can compete.
So does that make NASCAR fans like you resent F1? Fact is, NASCAR is
making headway all over the world now- I think in some degree because
of Papy's sim, but clearly also because people around the world
already love and understand racing better than the average american,
thanks to F1.
M***is, 'Tis better to join ranks than divide.
