GP2: Bug or my PC??

This has happened to me twice!!!

I drive around Monza track and suddenly the fps rate drops somewhere
near 0.5!!! PRETTY ANNOYING!!! When I press 'o' for CPU occupancy fps
returns to normal (crappy) 16. It is not fun to drive the car with left
hand on the o button.

Could this be the result of UniVBE 5.2? I have Trident 9440 (also
crappy, video speed 94) which is supported by UniVBE 5.2.

Am I just imaging, or does UniVBE really have any effect on fps?

Anyone with similar experiences?

I have UniVBE 5.2 and same trident 9440 video (2meg Ram) running on P133.
I run at a constant (pleasant enough) 16 fps and DO NOT have the prob you
describe. Sorry I havn't a clue why.

I run with UniVBE, but I can't really tell any difference in performance.
But, just in case... ;)

UniVBE does make a difference. On my P150 I have found a good gfx setup for
decent FR in SVGA. The game suggests 21 fps, but I set it to 19. This works
great on most tracks, but when I started to practice on Pacific the FPS dropped
way down in at least 2 of the turns. I had to disable yet another thing in the
gfx setup. Later I tried using UniVBE (with my 968 based Stealth 64) and
quickly found out that I could go back to my original gfx setup. No lag at all
on Pacific with that wonderful driver resident!
