MTM2!!

I've played mtm2. It is awesome. It still has the commentator, most of what
he says is same, but there is a few new ones, also if you roll it in the
water his voice sounds like he is underwater. The damage model isnt too bad
at all, everything can be crushed. The track designs are awesome, each track
has different looking checkpoints, and very realistic environments, fences
can be smashed down, Its great. you cant appreciate how good the graphics
are untill you have seen them in motion, they are awesome in 3dfx, metallic
paint, water reflections, weather effects etc.. Im running a 233mmx (no
cache.. dead) 32meg edo, orchid righteous, with full detail, maximum cars,
framerates hardly drop under around 30fps, except if you are the last car,
but even then it still hovers around 18fps. The 20 cars included are (i
might've forgotten one).
Bear foot
Big foot
Black Stallion
Boogey Van
Bret "The Hitman" Hart
Bulldozer
Carolina Crusher
Excecutioner
Firestone Wilderness
Grave Digger
Hollywood Hogan
Monster Patrol
Nitemare
Overkill
Rampage
Sampson
Snake Bite
Stinger
The Outsiders (interesting body!)
Wildfoot

There is also 12 tracks.. they are:

Farm Road 29 - Circuit Race
The Heights - Circuit Race
Scrapyard Run - Circuit Race
Crazy '98 (From mtm1) - Circuit race
Sidewinder Canyon - Rally Race
Voodoo Island - Rally Race
The Excavation - Circuit Race
Tinhom Junction - Rally Race
Breakneck Ridge - Circuit Race
Tumbleweed Flats - Rally Race
Summit 1,2,3 - Summit Scramble (Multiplayer)

Ive yet to try multiplayer out, because i only know of 1 other friend that
has it. So in a quick summary heres what will be different from MTM1 - 2:

~12 new tracks, all capable of multi-lap races
~New truck textures for more realistic gameplay
~New wrestle trucks from WCW and NWO
~Actual engine sounds from Bigfoot
~New photo realistic***pit
~Weather effects, including dense fog, pitch black,
snow and rain (which reduce traction) and more
~Special effects: headlights, lens flare, metallic paint,
   water reflections, and more
~AGP support
~Dynamic scenery including a blimp, oil derricks, and trains
~Deformable truck bodies
~New multi-player only game: Summit Rumble. Play king of the
hill for mayhem and points on three special tracks
~Force Feedback Support

There is also a hidden track called Graveyard in MTM2. Also see if you
can find the hidden sunken ship :-)

>Is this Glide or D3D?

The beta version had both, I'm presuming the shipping version is the
same (I would hop MS learned their lesson here from the CPR Glide
fiasco).

> Is it out now?

First if you are going to ask a one line question it is advisable to
remove all of the 200 lines of text included from the previous messages
:-)

Second, MTM2 will release to production on April 8th. Figure about two
to three weeks to ramp up production and get the games out to the
stores. I would expect to see the game on store shelves around Aprol
30th or May 1st unless of course they sell out! <g>

Thanks

MS releasing a game that supports glide???? Maybe their not a lost
cause after all. And since they won't need to spend so much time looking
for frame rate they may actually be able to finish this thing. I wonder
if when these fellas finish MTM2, have their holiday and get back to CPR
if MS will fully recognize the glide dll and let these guys focus on the
important stuff?
