BRH,
you can switch off auto-calibration (let's call it bang-bang) in Windows/game
controllers/<Logite..>/settings.
Normally autocal is not a problem, but in my ball-bearing wheel it really scares
me, due to the low inner resistance it knocks extremely ***ly.

I had the same problem when changing to XP.
I solved it by going back to Win98 ;-)
Anyhow, games were running much slower in XP. When having a 36 fps in GPL in
Monaco (all 3D-wheels, detail slider at half, back of the grid) in Win98SE, it
went down to 30 in XP.
