Love the ability to easily compare your performance with another driver...
just one click away from seeing which tracks are letting you down compared
to them.

Actually I just a a Weird GPLR experience. Updated my rank after knocking
about half a second from a couple of tracks. And there, right above me in
the list is Markus Stiepel, 0.1s faster than me.

Only two days ago I had an amazing encounter with MS. We spent about four
laps of Monza with him giving me a really hard time... I was struggling to
keep *just* enough lead to survive down the straights against his slightly
faster top speed.

On the last lap we finally clashed at Ascari... viewing the replay showed
it was me to blame for hogging the driving line when he had a wheel in
front :-( but even though it ended in tears it was an amazing clash.

But not so amazing as finding that we're *very* close in GPLR! I'd have
guessed we weren't far apart, but it's incredible to see it proved!

This nation's cup business has lead me to consider choosing "Mongolia" when
I get around to registering.  I don't want to be held accountable for
dragging my country down.  :-)

Hey guys, take it easy. The Nation's cup was born out of boredom,
not by any desire to induce even more stress into the competition
than we already have ;-)

Bye for now,

Uwe

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great bit of fun... not quite as much
fun as watching Holland take penalty-shooting lessons from the Italians,
but not far off ;-)

When you're gonna talk about soccer, can you at least post 'WAY OFF
TOPIC' in the header? This is very painfull for me, you know?

Sorry. If it helps I wanted them to win...till they missed 4 penalties in
a row. Reminded me of watching England :->

I didn't really have an agenda when I watched the game, but I must say the
sheer determination of the Italians won me over. And Italy has been in
decline since the Renaissance! They were so smily before the shoot-out it was
really uplifting. I wasn't sorry to see de Boer and Stam miss their shots -
sour-faced bullies!

Ohhhhh....that was low :)

Well at least the Dutch dont fall over like they have been struck by a heard
of antalopes when there is an opposing player within a 12 mile radius....

hmmm.... not exactly sportmanlike.... Its not the beautiful game anymore
  - it has been takin over by oscar winning actors!

Tis sad indeed.

One thing regarding the Nations Cup - why is there a "United Kingdom",
and a Scotland? I can understand Scotland being there if there is also
an England, Wales etc, but not to separate Scotland from the rest of
the U.K.

There's an England, too, you know, but only three or four of us in it.
Who'da thunk Riccardo Nunnini was English?

Nice post, completely agree. It's a shame that especially important
games are the most boring ones to watch.
I can allready predict that France-Italy will be very boring...
Italy defending with all players, France can't get through their
defense, and it will end again with 0-0 and penalties...

It's hard to be objective here, being Dutch, but imho the Italians
didn't deserve to win. Simply because they didn't play soccer, they
only defended their goal with the whole team for two hours.
What would soccer be like if all teams started to play like this?
Then we would only have 0-0 results, and every game would be decided
with penalties...
