OT: Off to montreal!

just thought I'd brag a bit, and say that I'm getting ready to leave for
Montreal! We couldn't go for Friday because my dad (who is driving) worked
today, but we are leaving at midnight from Windsor and it's about 10 hours
to Montreal. I've never been there, and my dad has been a few times about 10
years ago, so it should be very fun! I've been spending a lot of time
hotlapping the course with F1C and I can't wait to see it in real life!

I also have my police scanner all loaded up with the "best guesses" for the
frequencies for all the engineers and drivers for each team, as well as a
few media channels and race control stuff!

You're in for a great time.  I've only been once (last year) and had a
blast despite the weather being poor on a couple days.  From all accounts
the weather looks like it is going to be great for the weekend this year.

I should be there right now myself, but due to an unbelievable chain of
events, I am sitting at home with race tickets and out a lot of money.  I
am really bummed as you can imagine.

Ah well, there's always next year, I s'pose.

I took a bunch of pictures, mainly of some stuff that I found interesting.
Closeups of the curbs, microphones on the track, wireless communication
stuff, the teams shipping containers.. etc. I also have a nice picture of
Sato's BAR being towed right beside me when I was walking down the track. It
was either take a picture or reach out and touch it like everyone else :)

I also managed to find a really small piece of the front wing of Massa's
Sauber and got a really good look at a larger piece someone else found...
metal (al or ti?) honeycomb sandwiched between really thin carbon fiber...
wow.
