I've made three car cams that give that 'dynamic' feel that sdobie had
in his excellent movie.

I think the reason they work so well in his movie is that there's no
fixed point in the foreground. By making the camera 'float' around
without constantly seeing a wheel or the engine cover or whatever at the
bottom of the screen, the eye seems to be fooled into thinking the
camera isn't attached to anything and hence makes for a more dynamic
view of the racing.
