Don't worry - when I started at Cleveland I was doing times like yours,
and even before my league race last week I hadn't gone better than
1:06.xxx. Now after an intensive one week practice, I can run 59.xxx
often in hotlap setup - you will improve for sure!

BTW - I would advise you NOT to try a wheel/pedal. If you try one, you
will buy it :)  They are SO much better for driving, not necessarily
faster, but more realistic and relaxing to drive. Great fun!

Glad you liked the mag,

Cheers!
John

Nice attitude as long as you're the only game in town. When ZD and others enter this
market your attitude may become more 'user friendly'.

Hey Chuck! Maybe you haven't noticed, but Sim Racing News is *free*! From what
I've seen, John Wallace works his ass off on this thing, and it shows! I really
look forward to it each month. Maybe you should pull your head far enough outta
your ASS to see all the work that John puts into his page. And what does he ask
from us in return? NOTHING. Not one thing. AND, Sim Racing News is better than
anything a *professional* journalist could ever do, because it seems like John
is one of us, a sim racing junkie. So basically, what I'm saying to you
is.....SHUT UP! SRN is not a "business", it a free-lance web page made for
people like you and me that enjoy sim racing. *** all you want, I applaud
John for all his efforts on a great magazine! THANKS JOHN!!!

PS. How come the Germans are so special all of a sudden and have copies of GP2
ONE WEEK before it's even shipped? I guess Microprose must feel sorry for
Shumacher :) I don't even wanna think of what finding GP2 is gonna be like here
in the US.......

Hmmm, so all the advice I posted didn't mean anything, and the _JOKE_ I
posted at the end gives me an attitude problem?!

Nice attitude buddy! (that was also a joke by the way!).

Cheers! ;)

I guess, the F1 fever is quite the biggest know in Germany. That's understandable,
because Schumi is double world champion. Of course, this could settle quite
dramatically, if the Fumaries, eehh, Ferraris keep smoking like that... 8^)

Hey John,

Don't listen to what these jerkoffs have to say.  99.9% of the sim racing fraternity
who tune in to this group are *fully aware* of the time and effort you spend getting
each edition of SRN ready.  If these other guys can't be bothered to download a
decent version of netscape then tough!  It only took me 1 hour and 8 minutes last week
on my 14400 Sportster.  You even provide an FTP version for non-web surfers - what a
service!!

I think SRN is the best thing I've come across on the Web.  Its informative, unbiased
and a downright good read.  You have been providing a fantastic service, especially to
those of us waiting for the arrival of GP2.  You have been keeping us informed of
developments from the testing team directly, which is more than anyone else has
bothered to do.  And you do all this for no financial rewards!

On behalf of the appreciative and supportive majority, I say a heartfelt THANK YOU for
yours and Marcs efforts to produce what is the best sim magazine around.

May all your laps be hot ones!

Pete

Here here!!!

Since John and his associates are providing an excellent means for us
to one-stop shop, all kinds of relevant and interesting material,AND
since this is all done, just coz he's a nice bloke(no cost to us),it
seems to me that we accept graciously, whatever is provided...

If it does'nt suit us all...TOUGH NUTS FOR US!

I'm sure John and the gang, would appreciate any helpful ideas that may
help to enhance the magazine,or make his life easier...

But cut out the complaining!!

I appreciate John's lack of time, etc for only producing as framed
version and thoroughly enjoy SRN now since I got hold of a copy of
Netscape (a hell of a lot quicker than you because I didn't ftp it -
BBS's are still important!) - but I would prefer not to use NS since it
requires Windoze.....and in many ways a native OS/2 product is nicer.

Oh yes - and as for the zipped version, tried getting this on a number
of occasions and the feed was SO slow I gave up in disgust.....4% after
15 minutes typically!!!

But actually your post struck me by the blinkered view it (seemed) to
present.....your Netscape assumption is similar to that of people who
think the ONLY environment is Windoze and the only wordprocessor
Micro$oft Word.....widen your view a little!     B-)

Cheers!
