If you go for Hard Truck II, be sure to download
the ht2p1005 patch.  That's the patch that
includes the NO LAND MINES cheat.  The maps at
www.trucksims.com will also be a big help.

Enjoy!

OK, thx. Tried the demo of HT 1, but it only allowed to race on a
circuit with just cabs so it didn't give me a very good feeling for
the overall game. Downloaded a video of HT 2 and the graphics look
much better going by the video. I don't think there are any mirrors in
this game though, right?

Actually, there ARE mirrors.  Here's one of the
tips from the www.trucksims.com site:

"Use your mouse to rotate your view slightly to
the left until you can see your drivers side
mirror. This way you can drive and still monitor
the road behind you."

The real benefit to the demo is the sense it gives
you of the physics in the game.  They are not bad.
Still, given all you've said, HT2 is probably what
you're looking for.  At bargain prices, though,
why not get both?  :)

i have this game (HT2) running on a celeron 600 (not oc'ed), 192 megs of ram
and a v3 2000, and i average between 10 and 20 fps no matter what i set the
graphic detail to.  it seems to me that i should get a better framerate than
that.  anyone else run into the same things and found a solution?  thanks
and sorry for interrupting the thread with my query.

I love it. A guy down the hall and I are both ***ed to it now. It
seems like it's a simple and boring game, but it's strangely ***ing.

PS. Plus, it's cheap :-)
