I think you miss my point John, I said MGPRS2, with no mention of NFS PU,
Viper racing, DTR etc. I was just using GPL as an example. I think that Jo
Helson, who made his comments on this thread, should keep in mind that I
DON'T EVEN OWN GPL. If I were thinking that nothing will ever compare to
GPL, then I might want to go out and buy it.

So what the hell exactly is that that your talking about John when you make
these references to these other games?

And I'm also Interested in Jo's comments about comparing me to a racist. If
no offense were intended, then perhaps you shouldn't have said those words?
These were Jo Helson's words in case anyone missed them the first time
around (un-edited profanities included)  "Maybe the comparison is a little
bit over the top, but Kai's message reminded me an awful lot of the "I'm not
a racist but I don't like ***s"-quote. If only they would paint them
_white_  (absolutely no offence intended)"

So lets recap, I don't own GPL, so I'm obviously not one of those people who
think GPL is the end all. (I welcome flames for not owning GPL :)) Secondly,
I don't think I'm the only one who thinks MGPRS2 doesn't do as good of a job
as GPL in the physics model. If I offended anyone is a MGPRS2 devotee, I OWN
MGPRS2....

Hmmm... well I suppose this should teach me, from now on to post on r.a.s.
and leavre the group for a couple days. I appreciate everyone's more
civilized replied, including ymenard's which proves ALL French Canadians
can't be bad spellers... :)

I'll choose to interpret this as a non-offensive comment.  If you're asking why
there are so few blacks in racing?  Money.  It's harder for minorities to get
the sponsorship needed.  And to answer your first question, yes.

....

I'm very sorry that my choice of words causes misunderstanding. Please
keep in mind that it is difficult to be subtle when you write in
another language...  :-)

Comparing you to a racist was the last thing I intended (how could I
have ANY reason to suspect that, BTW???).

The "I'm not a racist but I don't like ***s!"-quote is just
regarded (over here) as a prototype quote to illustrate people
being/intending exactly what they pretend NOT to be/intend.

Noone (except some REALLY weird people) considers racism as an
acceptable and sensible behaviour. Still people can show signs of it
without being aware or without admitting that they actually suffer of
narrow-mindedness. Their behaviour/language clearly indicates that
they are not free of these feelings, EVEN while stating that they
"aren't like that".

The analogy with your post (the ONLY analogy) is that it is written to
point out that r.a.s. is not GPL-centric, while the style comes
accross as eh.. "rather" GPL-centric   :-)

I shouldn't have said  "Maybe the comparison is a little over the
top". This (when looking back) suggests that the analogy concerned the
"severity" of what you did.

I'm really sorry if it gave the wrong impression.

(I'm glad you only suspected me of accusing you of a degree of racism
and not of GPL-blasphemy. The reaction could have been much worse then
;-)     )

This has always puzzled me.  There are loads of companies with
products/services aimed at minority consumers.  Even more so for women.  Seems
to me that the few minority/female drivers who reach the top levels should be
overwhelmed with sponsors, yet they invariably say it's a problem.  I don't
grok the logic at all.
