Force feedback wheels

Hi All
Can anyone tell me how the mechanics of the force feedback steering wheels work.
Having built my own steering wheel and pedals it would be interesting to see how
this could be added, if at all..

Cheers

I think the mechanics of it would be easy.
Just a motor and some sort of gear system
to transfer the torque to the steering
wheel.

The hard part would be to make it talk
to the computer.  Immersion makes a
FF processor that is used in a lot
of FF wheels.  I think you can pull
up their web site at
http://www.force-feedback.com.
If you could get one of those, and
figure out how it interfaces with the
computer and the FF motor, it might
not be too difficult.

But then, the easiest and cheapest
way to get a FF wheel would be to go to:
http://www.actlab.com
and order one for $139.99.
