I'm downloading the demo right now. Being that the game has been in the
*** rags for the past couple of issues, I thought I'd check it out. Has
anyone looked at it yet? It seems to me that whenever you get into the
"futuristic" racing stuff, it becomes more arcade than anything else. Oh
well, I'll just have to see what happens...

If you like arcade games, then this sim is all right. But for *** sim
fans, it's nothing spectacular at all. You're in a third-person "chase car"
view while racing so you can see the car's wings sprout when it gets
airborn. There's no such thing as AI in the game, and the graphics are
merely passable.
Physics model? No way. The car turns from the middle - like most older race
car games (even NR), so it looks like it's sitting on a mechanic's trolley
and rotating about it's center of gravity.

What a disappointment! And what a stupid game! I bet my kids would get a
kick out of it, though, so there's some redeeming qualities to it.

Well its not bad, just not a great game. I enjoyed the demo for about 5 laps
then it got old... but still handles like NFS3 but the frame rate was
fast....

You should read my "Are Simulations Fun" column at Digital Sportspage.
I wrote it after reading a two page "informercial" for Jeff Gordon XS
Racing in which the ad basically claims that simulations aren't fun
and they are too slow....

It's at the bottom of the home page: http://www.racesimcentral.net/.
