i am very lucky to live in germany cause microprose - or the retailer
- decided to deliver the german market first.

gp2 was released in germany on july 16 and at 10.30 local time i was
one the first people who installed it at their machine successfully
(_:).

i got a p133, 16 mb ram, 6x cd-rom and the game is running very good
on my machine - even in svga.

One retailer in Brisbane says July 22nd; however, two retailers in Perth
say July 19th - THIS FRIDAY.  Quite frankly I take both dates with a
pinch of salt.

I know someone who is a friend of the distributor and should be able to
get a copy before the release date - whenever it is.

I am going to call him tomorrow to see what's the story.

I agree Anthony.  The sales people in the large chain stores have
questionable knowledge about the products they are selling.  The
smaller local stores like MetroSoft and Software Today (Carindale) are
staffed by people who know what they are talking about and if they are
unsure, get onto to someone immediately who can clarify the situation.
Software Today also confirm a Monday 22.7.96 delivery.  Can't wait!

Toyworld "It must be soon because the rep was here yesterday and was
asking if he could put some posters up." ME"you didn't get a release
date?" Toywold" No I didn't think to ask, I suppose I should have
hey!?" ME "Yeh, it would have been a good idea, bye"

MetroSoft (small local store) "It's going to be here Monday, i just
check about an hour ago, sounds like it is going to be cool" ME "Are
you 99% sure?" MS "Yep, do you want me to give you a call as soon as
we get it in and priced?" ME"You bet"

Who needs these socalled big chain stores, they only appeasr to be in
it  for the Money and show no interests in the products themselves!!!!

PS anyone know what the score is with the US/Euopean versions, which
one will we be getting in Aus.
