According to my local supplier in Parramatta GP2 is expected
in Australia on 22 July.
They are getting 200 copies.

Also has anyone in Australia purchased a steering wheel from overseas?
I was thinking of buying a T2 and they are half the price if I buy
direct from the states. Any comments from anyone would be most
appreciated.

Cheers

I rang Games Wizard in Parramatta yesterday. He told me 21st.
I looked at a T2 on demo at the Lidcombe store... it was severly broken which
only confrimed my impression of the plasticy feel.
I have since made my own and have never looked back. Cost me around $50 in
parts (excluding the wheel). Check out http://www.oz.net/~wottenad/ for some
tips on home building

I just spoke a games shop in Wollongong, and they said that their Sydney
supplier has copies in stock now, and is sending them down on Monday (15/7).

I find it hard to believe after all the tax and shiping that it would still
be half the price. The price is falling now, I saw one advertised for AUS$140.

No worries.

Hows it going david, me and u live close together, im in blacktown, anyway at
the show at darling harbour i saw a control that shits all over the t2. You
can buy a whole simulator to sit in as well, the steering wheel is the same as
the real thing, up and down gears on the wheel it self. It costs more than the
t2 though youll have to call them to find out the exact place. The company
name is called Rap fx phone in sydney (02) 99681670 in melbourne (03)
97396323. Im buying the whole setup, costs about about 1200 bucks but i think
its worth it, u can even attach it to your tv. Anyway hope this was useful and
hope that date is right or there will be hell to pay. See ya.

Hi to both of you. I'm in Hurstville.

I had a T1 and it was very flimsy and broke within no time (plus the first pedal box I got was broken). It WAS
fantastic fun while it lasted though.

Regards, David.

David,
I looked into importing a T2 from the states, but by the time you add on
freight (about $90 Australian), you may just about as well go out a buy
it locally (you might end up saving $40 odd if you buy from U.S., but
you'll have to wait for it). The good news is that customs can't be
bothered with low value imports, so you won't get hit with import duty)

Laserbaud in Melbourne have it advertised at $245...very tempting.
their web page (www.laserbaud.com - I think) have it for more (and they
mention the T1), but their printed catalog has the lower price.
