What are your current system specs, and why is it running so hot that it
needs all that money's worth of water cooling stuff?

From what I've seen most people use watercooling purely as eye candy. I
mean, it's cheaper to buy a better processor than to overclock most of them
and try to keep it cool with all that jazz. I mean, it's your pc, and I
admit it looks cool. I just like seeing people use their money for good
things. although, who am I to say what is good and what isn't..

peace!

True, but it can really be fun to mix water with electrical components !!

I've toyed with the idea as a way to get rid the infuriating fan noise my PC
spews forth....(I just haven't quite been sufficienty infuriated to spend
that much money yet).

If the noise really bugged me, I'd put the PC in another room. My house has
an unfinished ba***t, and I was toying with the idea of building a little
area mounted on the ceiling of the ba***t that could hold my PC's with the
wires coming straight up into my room. :)

I agree.  The whole overclocking/watercooling thing never made much sense to
me.  I guess it's a hobby thing.

I used to go through $2000 a year in Model Helicopter parts, so I guess it
ain't so bad :)

Heh, tell me about it.  I got so sick of listening to mine I put it
inside an insulated and ventilated enclosure in the crawlspace/attic.
I draw conditioned air into the enclosure through flex duct to keep it
from overheating.  I removed the DVD-ROM drive from the case and put
it on the end of a 36" ribbon cable and then cut a hole in the wall
and poked the sucker through.  I built a nice-looking faceplate to
frame the drive, the rack for my soundcard, and the power/reset
buttons.

It took some time, but the system is basically inaudible now.

Precisely (and that is the primary reason I stated on the web page).
It's possible to be completely fanless, and that would be a good
thing, but I don't know if I have the ability to water cool a power
supply.  The primary noise sources are the CPU fan and the GPU fan,
and I really would like to put the sides back on the case, but I
can't because of the heat.

Soooooo, I figured I'd give water cooling a try.

With  a cpu, gpu and northbridge water blocks - and a silent PSU - the only
fan would be the one thru the radiator :O
