I picked it up yesterday and was driving for hours. I immidiately picked the
career mode, which I so far think is a brilliant way for the sim racer beginner.
At first there is very little you can setup in the car, but after you get better
you earn money and can buy stuff which you can modify in the setup. Brilliant,
cause this gives you a very good idea of how each modification affects the car
behaviour :o). It's too early to tell something about the physics in detail, but
they seem to have done a very good job. You can for example force oversteer in
mid corner by lifting the throttle. The physics is GPLish :o).

I have over 1000 hours in racing sims and still enjoy it a lot :o).

/Christer, had a lot of fun last night :o)

If there's a six in my email replace it with the digit instead.

One more thing. It's very apparent that the first car you get to drive is a
sluggish street car, but with every improvement you buy, it gets closer to a
full *** race car :o))).

Dunno but I got tired of waiting in the UK so I got it from EB in USA via
the web for 35, including postage, the game itself was only $30. Took about
4 days to get it.

IMHO, that's awfully generous! I've yet to feel the car in Viper. In GPL
it's the order of the day!

Christer! I haven't seen your name in months, at the apex since gpl was a demo.
I agree, viper is gpl'ish in it's physics and quite fun!
It also sounds pretty good too.

While I wouldn't put the physics on the same level, the added FF effects
make you REALLY feel the car, bouncing around due to wheight transfer.
You can actually wrestle with the car, that's new and very enjoyable
in a PC racing simulation...

I got the German version today from a local software retailer, so it
should be available in the UK too.
Grrrreat game! Goodbye, GPL, for a while... Viper shows the full
potential of force feedback even better than the demo did, so Papy
could really give us a FF patch.
And the price is great, too: below US$ 30 (approx.) even in Austria -
good buy. I like Sierra :)

Oddly enough, I feel just the opposite.

I can't feel _anything_ in GPL, but I really feel like I'm inside the
Viper.

I've been racing online in GPL :o). I'm currently at around 10 hours a week or
more in GPL and most of the hours I'm online racing at VROC.

/Christer, see you at VROC, John :o)?
