If anyone is using Kali for N3,NL or GPL?   I would like to know their
opinion of it, before shelling out $20

As you may have figured from my previous post I and an ever increasing group are
using it on a daily basis. The download gives you around 15 mins to log on and
kick it around a bit to get the "feel" of things. After the 15 mins is up you
shut it down for a minute or two and log back in for another 15 minutes or so.
You can do this as many times as you like. See my posts in alt.games.kali for
instructions on how to get it set up.

If for no other reason it is worth it not to have to arena hop and to have the
pings to all races come up when you go to the games list. You also have the
ability to sort the list of servers by any of a number of categories. (host,
ping, track, hops, loss just to name a few.) There is a symbol to denote whether
the host has a password and a category for wheter the race is in practice or is
closed. (i.e. has gone to qual or race.) Which brings up another point. All
hosts remain on the list whether or not they have gone to race mode or not. That
way if you want to know if a specific host is up you can see it and know to wait
till the current race is finished so you can wait and join it then.

Hope this helps. I had my doubts at first too, but don't regret it one bit now.
It is well worth the 20 bucks imho.

It is worth $20.00.  Kali does offer the advantage of seeing all the races
available, including GPL, DTR, N3 and NL. You can connect directly to any of the
races from KALI (be sure to *not* hit escape when the game starts up - KALI will
automatically bypass the video - hitting escape just brings you back to KALI).

The usual number of people in the chat room is about 15.  However, chat is a nice
feature - but - being to check out all the arenas at one time is the best feature
IMHO.

It is worth the money.  Even if you don't use it for GPL, you can always play
another game.
