N2 - Problems with white holes when importing PCXs

I've found the white patches to come from some black colors in the palette.
It's usually easy enough to use the eyedropper and color replacer to swap
them out for a black that does not show up as transparent in the paintkit.

N2 - Problems with white holes when importing PCXs

Hi!

With the arrival of the NASCAR 2 patch(es), I've reinstalled the game
(I've been busy with ICR2 and GP2 previously), but I'm having a problem
when importing car PCX files which I've altered with PaintShop Pro.
This may well have been dealt with long ago on the newsgroup, so
apologies if this is an old problem.

I know how to get round the 'corrupted palette' problem, but when I
apply one of the N2 palettes (I've tried Alex Sanantonio's and Chris
Frederick's), after using PS Pro in 16 million colours, paste to a fresh
pcx file, and try import back into the game, I get several areas of
white.  From Alex's text file, I gather these are normally caused by
colours not in the palette, but in both the cases that I've tried it,
there have been other areas of the same colours on the car which have
been unaffected (right down to the same palette index numbers in PS
Pro).  The white areas seem to show up in the same places (on the left
rear roof support, and the top corner edges of the airdam decal for
example), in each case.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if anyone knew
of a solution to it, as Alex's 'fixed' palette unfortunately doesn't
seem to solve the problem.  I'd be very grateful if anyone can offer any
help.

Thanks!
